On Friday night, one of the suspects in a daring attempted kidnapping of a 5-year-old boy was apprehended by police. The little boy was walking with his family in Queens on Thursday evening when the incident occurred.

His alleged accomplice who was described as a bald older man wearing jeans, an orange polo shirt, and sunglasses, is still on the loose. The unknown man was in the passenger seat during the terrifying incident.
Security cameras captured the incident, which showed an older model maroon sedan driving up alongside a mother and her three children who were walking down the sidewalk. The mother and her kids were said to be heading to her husbandās job to bring him food when the shocking near-abduction occurred.
According to the NYPD, around 8:45 p.m, chilling camera footage showed a man identified as McGonagle leap out of the maroon sedan. He ran up to the little boy, snatched him, and shoved him into the back seat of the car. The incident happened near Myrtle and Hillside Avenues.
The desperate mother frantically ran over to the car and was able to pull the boy out through an open window before the vehicle sped away.
In connection with the horrifying incident in Richmond Hill, 24-year-old James McGonagle of Pomonok was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping, reckless endangerment, and acting in a manner injurious to a child, according to the NYPD.
