
When a Florida man tried to throw a live alligator onto the roof of a seaside cocktail lounge, he told police officers he was “teaching it a lesson.” The man had allegedly stolen the gator from a miniature golf course earlier.

According to a police report, the 32-year-old man from Homestead, Florida was arrested early Thursday morning after authorities in Daytona Beach Shores saw him attempting to throw the gator onto the roof of a cocktail lounge just off Highway A1A.
The allegation continued that the man then grabbed the alligator by its tail, slammed it against the building’s awning, threw it to the ground, and stomped on it twice.
The man was arrested and taken into custody. He was charged with possession and injury of an alligator, unarmed burglary of an occupied dwelling, theft, and criminal mischief.
He admitted to investigators that he had taken the gator from a nearby miniature golf course’s area. The man remained in custody Friday morning, according to online court records.
